In 2015 we had the pleasure of launching the FLAG website, which was online until the end of 2021. And in 2021 we did it again.

Update and optimize

Since its launch, a lot has changed, from some SEO rules and possibilities, which forced us to rethink the entire structure of the site, to web design trends that have brought us new approaches and possibilities.

After 6 years online, what we didn't lack was data for analysis and decision-making on what we wanted for the new site, and also for content management in the back office.

Some features no longer made sense and could be turned off, others could be improved, and many others optmized.

The visual language of the site was naturally dated and no longer appealed to new audiences.

In short, we were faced with a "centenary" site and there was little else to do.

It's always the least sexy part of these jobs, but it was important to analyze all the specific fields within the content to understand what could stay, what was missing and what could be deleted.

Only this work allowed us to move on to design with tidier and clearer ideas about the relationship of the content on the site.

Without getting too technical, while in the previous version each course date gave rise to a different page, now we only have one line in the list, which greatly increases the site's performance and makes it easier to read the information.

Things have also happened, such as the pandemic and the huge growth in online training. And this has also forced a review of training "venues" and a dismantling of local offers. They still exist... but do they make sense?

Modular web design

The web design was done in a modular way, which allowed us to reuse elements when building new pages and thus ensure that the site can evolve over the coming years.

You just have to know which modules you want to use and how you can use them.

Solving SEO

The URL structure (address of the site and of each piece of content) has also been optimized and we've moved to arranging all the courses under the heading /course/ for the adoption of the RankMath plugin has helped resolve many other open points on the previous site and is a good support for writing content and managing images for the site and for social sharing. We recommend it.

Google Web Stories

Google likes to experiment and so do we, which is why we've adopted Google Web Stories to create highlights on the site's homepage.

It's an experiment, we like to try things out and FLAG, being at the forefront of digital marketing, also liked the idea.

FLAG has a new website

We're proud to have done it for the second time, and it didn't bother us at all that we questioned our own ideas and assumptions in 2015.

It was quite salutary and there's nothing like confronting ideas with objective analytical data to dispel doubts.
